A WORD FROM PHIL
Whether you have thought about it or not, you have been propagandized. In common English, you have been “sold a bill of goods.” Our public schools do not allow the “open discussion of origins.” The only beliefs taught there are based in the atheistic view which comes from the Evolutionary Model. This is true from K-12 to the level of a doctorate degree! (The good news is that teachers want better, and students still have the right to more information – a right to more than is currently in the textbooks.)
Many Christians try to mix evolution and the Bible (for the sake of their own sanity). They really do not mix. I will suggest this to you: Once you investigate the most up-to-date evidence from science, you will wonder why you have been trying to mix them. After all, the data does not support the idea of one kind of animal changing into another kind! Not at all! Of course, God did prescribe tremendous capability for adaptation within the original kinds of animals, but he also proscribed definite limits. The search for the changes Charles Darwin dreamed up has been ongoing since at least 500 B.C.:
No luck, yet.
- I want to open up the discussion in several ways.
Darwin said that his theory was a “Rag of an hypothesis with as many flaws and holes as sound parts.” I like his comment! The Church has been under the influence – snowed! Because of this, Believers in Jesus Christ need to tone up and be educated on the subject. On the public education front, the monopoly of the Evolutionary Model must be broken. If both the Church and the educational system can see what Darwin himself saw, they will realize that evolution has become a religious faith system. It is sold hard! It is believed in spite of the evidence against it!
I mention the idea of an “open forum for the discussion of origins” in the mission statement for CnC, Creation-in-Concert Ministries. In churches this can be created through the Freedom to Believe series of programs. They range from twenty minute intro talks to full blown seminars. Your church has many options to choose from. For the schools there is the Alternatives to Darwin – Breaking the Monopoly series. These programs are often done in secular settings for teachers, but can also be hosted by your church in the form of a teacher appreciation banquet, etc.
While it is true that a ”concert” can be a music program, on the other hand, the word can also describe “cooperative effort.” Whether I sing or not in programs, I always want to be at work for the Lord in concert with you – working in a cooperative way! If you are just exploring on your own or would like to help churches or teachers discover what is out there other than the Evolutionary Model and humanism, WELCOME to the Creation in Concert site – CnC!
I hope you enjoy the site, as it grows. Please feel free to email or request a talk or seminar!
- Phil
